Compare SONY’s kit lens and SIGMA’s fixed focal length lens with NEX-5R

IMG_8103_2

I bought mirrorless camera, SONY NEX-5R from my friend last month. This is my first a single-lens reflex camera.

As I took a photo with iPhone for many years, I was so amazed the photo quality taken by mirrorless camera…!!

And I got a SIGMA’s fixed focal length lens E 19mm EX DN at the same time. This Lens is also Hand-me-down of my friend, but he strongly recommended this lens.

I want to know the difference between the two lenses. So, I try to compare SONY’s kit lens and SIGMA’s fixed focal length lens with NEX-5R mirrorless camera. Each lens’s photos are taken with same composition as can as possible.

Today’s models are:

Stuffed dog “Oh-sama”
SV-1, My Electric Piano

Photos taken by SONY’s kit lens

Body: SONY NEX-5R
Lens: SONY E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS

Lens: SIGMA E 19mm F2.8 EX DN

So amazing quality, but…

So cool! I can not hold a candle to photos taken with the iPhone camera.

Though I can’t recognize a difference when watching photo in Small Size, but in large size(Please click to enlarge photo), SIGMA’s lens has a good atmosphere. It can easily blurs background than zoom lens.

and I feel SIMGMA’s photos looks more sharp than SONY’s.

On the other hand, SONY’s lens has a zoom, so it’s easy to determine the composition.

I want to compare these lenses in outdoor next time.
